ROJECT MANAGER - COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION

Location: Charleston, SC

A growing commercial General Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Charleston, SC team. This is a confidential opportunity with a company that values integrity, accountability, teamwork, strong relationships, and quality construction.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, solutions-oriented Project Manager who can take ownership of projects from preconstruction through closeout. This is an opportunity to work closely with leadership, clients, architects, subcontractors, and field teams while having a meaningful impact on the success and growth of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and pay applications.
  • Review plans, specifications, scopes, and project requirements.
  • Work closely with Superintendents and field teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Identify potential issues early and develop proactive solutions.
  • Monitor project financials, costs, and profitability.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication throughout the project.
  • Coordinate project documentation and closeout activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 or more years of commercial construction Project Management experience.
  • Experience working for a commercial General Contractor or Construction Management firm.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, plans, specifications, scheduling, and project financials.
  • Experience managing projects through all phases of construction.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and client-facing skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with both office and field teams.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or construction scheduling software.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Commercial renovations, occupied facilities, healthcare, K-12 or higher education, government, institutional construction, design-build, historic renovation, commercial upfits, or tenant improvements.
