We are looking for a Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects in a general contractor environment, taking full ownership from preconstruction through closeout. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving project execution, financial performance, client satisfaction, and field coordination. Responsibilities
- Oversee commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and cost forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead subcontractor buyout, contract administration, and ongoing coordination to ensure efficient project execution.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders to keep projects moving forward.
- Partner with field superintendents to resolve construction challenges and maintain project milestones.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project financial performance, prepare cost reports, and proactively identify risks that could impact profitability.
- Lead project meetings and communicate project status with internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all work complies with contract documents, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Drive successful project turnover, punch list completion, and final closeout documentation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects for a general contractor.
- Proven experience delivering projects from preconstruction through closeout with direct project ownership.
- Experience managing commercial, corporate, healthcare, institutional, or multifamily construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, and cost control.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Commercial general contractor experience is required; residential-only project management experience will not be sufficient.
