Electrical Project Manager / Estimator

Compensation: $100,000 or more, based on experience

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager/Estimator to join a well established electrical contractor serving commercial and industrial customers. This is a key leadership position responsible for estimating, project management, field support, customer relationships, and business development.
The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background and understand both the field and business sides of electrical construction. The company would also value someone who can introduce better technology, systems, and processes to improve estimating, scheduling, project tracking, and overall efficiency.
The early morning schedule allows this person to organize the shop, prepare crews, and address project needs before employees leave for their job sites.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate estimates, takeoffs, proposals, budgets, and scopes of work
- Review drawings and specifications to identify project requirements, risks, and opportunities
- Manage commercial and industrial electrical projects from award through completion
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, schedules, and subcontractors
- Organize the shop and prepare field crews for the workday
- Conduct jobsite visits to monitor safety, quality, productivity, and progress
- Provide technical support and direction to electricians and field personnel
- Manage change orders, pricing, documentation, and scope adjustments
- Meet with customers and general contractors to review project requirements
- Develop and maintain strong customer, contractor, and employee relationships
- Pursue new commercial and industrial electrical opportunities
- Support value engineering, negotiated projects, and design build work
- Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code, local codes, and safety requirements
- Assist with training and mentoring field employees
- Help implement technology and improved systems for estimating, scheduling, communication, and project management
- Assist in the field with troubleshooting or project support when necessary
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction
- Strong estimating and project management experience
- Solid understanding of electrical field operations
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills
- Ability to build customer relationships and help secure new work
- Comfortable using technology and introducing improved processes
- Willingness to work additional hours when project needs require it
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license is preferred
- Established relationships with local general contractors or customers are helpful
- Experience with design build or negotiated projects is preferred
