Summary: As the Project Manager, you will support the planning and execution of capital projects at an industrial client site. This role will manage assigned projects from early scope development through construction, commissioning, and closeout while supporting safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery.
The Project Manager will work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, EHS, finance, contractors, and other stakeholders to define project needs, develop project scopes, track cost and schedule performance, coordinate execution activities, and support project completion. The ideal candidate has mid-level industrial project experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to learn and apply client-specific work processes and project-management practices.
Essential Functions
Manage assigned capital projects from initial request and scope development through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
Support a portfolio of multiple concurrent capital projects, with project scope, complexity, and workload assigned based on business and client needs.
Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, EHS, finance, contractors, and other stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, priorities, and execution plans.
Assist with developing project scopes, estimates, schedules, budgets, and supporting documentation for project approvals and capital funding requests.
Coordinate project activities to support safe, compliant, cost-effective, and timely completion.
Monitor project progress, costs, schedules, commitments, and risks; communicate updates and identify issues requiring attention or escalation.
Participate in project reviews, planning meetings, field walkdowns, design discussions, and construction coordination activities.
Coordinate with engineering firms, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support project execution and resolution of routine project issues.
Assist with contractor scope alignment, work planning, progress tracking, and project documentation.
Support construction, commissioning, project turnover, punch-list completion, and closeout activities.
Help ensure assigned project work follows applicable company, client, site, safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and maintain project records, status updates, cost forecasts, schedules, and other project-control documentation.
Perform other tasks as assigned or directed by the Orion manager and Client representative.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or a related technical field preferred. Relevant industrial project experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Three to seven years of project management, project engineering, construction management, maintenance-project, engineering, or related experience in an industrial, manufacturing, chemical, energy, construction, or technical-services environment.
Experience supporting capital projects, construction projects, plant-maintenance projects, engineering projects, or industrial improvement initiatives preferred.
Experience with scope development, project planning, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and contractor coordination is preferred.
Experience working in an operating industrial facility, refinery, chemical plant, manufacturing plant, or similar environment is preferred.
Experience managing multiple priorities and coordinating with cross-functional project teams.
Exposure to project approval processes, cost tracking, forecasting, procurement, construction support, commissioning, or project closeout is helpful.
Basic to working knowledge of capital-project execution, including project scope development, planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, risk identification, and change management.
Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, vendors, and client stakeholders.
Ability to interpret project documentation, including scopes of work, drawings, schedules, estimates, and contractor proposals.
Strong organization, follow-through, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while seeking direction and escalating issues appropriately.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with project scheduling, cost-control, procurement, maintenance, or document-management systems is preferred.
Ability to work in the US without sponsorship.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work assignment inside an operating plant which requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboard.Must be able to bend, stoop and climb on a ladder or up and down stairs.
Must be able to drive a company vehicle to and from job sites or office locations.
Must be able to attend job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility in a hot climate.
Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
