    Job Description

    Job duties may include: preventing power surges; ensuring that the right amount of energy is distributed; operating power-generating equipment; measuring power flow with gauges, meters, and charts; and maintaining generators, turbines, and other equipment.

    Education/Experience: Associate Degree in applicable profession, business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; possesses seven to ten years of experience.

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities / Workload

    The IT Senior Project Manager for the AMI 2.0 Program will lead all phases of the project lifecycle and system integrator engagement activities, including pre-planning, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure for a major Advanced Metering Infrastructure initiative.

    This role focuses on resource and task planning, technical blueprinting, business process design, and vendor coordination within a complex IT environment. Facilitate IT business process mapping and requirements clarification to ensure alignment with functional needs, technical delivery, and IT SI area of responsibility.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Prepare, analyze, manage and deliver regular financial reports, tracking TI expenditures for the AMI 2.0 program releases including variances and forecasts; collaborating closely with TI management and technical teams.
    • Develop a comprehensive resource plan based on technical scope, including roles, skillsets, and effort and cost estimates across workstreams (integration, data, infrastructure, and testing).
    • Support the development and refinement of a high-level solution blueprint that defines scope, schedule, and budget from a technical lens - integrating infrastructure, data flows, and system interfaces to inform delivery planning.
    • Plan and coordinate the Planning & Analyze phases, including solution design validation, technical feasibility reviews, and preparation for Build phase activities including environment readiness, development sequencing, testing strategy, and deployment rollout.
    • Coordinate project activities across technical and business teams to ensure alignment with milestones and deliverables.
    • Track scope against baseline requirements and support change control process; document scope changes, assess impacts, and escalate risks to senior leadership as needed ensuring traceability between requirements, design, and deliverables.
    • Maintain clear documentation of financial transactions and project milestones for audit and compliance purposes.
    • Identifying risks, opportunities, and recommending corrective actions as needed.
    • Support procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiations related to TI and financial components of the project.

    Required Skills / Attributes

    • Broad IT infrastructure knowledge - ability to see the "big picture" and ensure no gaps in delivery.
    • Experience managing large IT programs, resource planning, solution blueprinting, implementation planning, and overall end-to-end delivery management.
    • 3+ years of experience in large-scale IT program/project management in utilities or regulated industries.
    • Experience with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure), smart grid, or large Electric Utility technology and infrastructure projects: AMI 1.0 or 2.0 preferred (at minimum some 1.0 exposure).
    • Demonstrates strong communication, problem-solving, management of risks/issues, and cross-functional leadership engagement.
    • Ability to quickly integrate into a fast-paced, large program, understand their role, absorb information rapidly, and deliver results efficiently with appropriate level of direction and guidance.
    • Strong blend of business insight and technical proficiency to bridge the gap between stakeholder needs and technological solutions.
    • Ability to personally execute day-to-day PM deliverables, in addition to overseeing and delegation. Must be adaptable, open to feedback, and able to take on other responsibilities as assigned.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.

    Desired Skills / Attributes

    • Experience delivering/developing technical information to a non-technical audience.
    • PMP certification.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and financial compliance in utility or IT sectors.
    • Strong track record in vendor management and IT contract negotiations.

    Please prioritize candidates with AMI 1.0/2.0, Smart Grid, Utility IT Program Management, and large-scale infrastructure delivery experience.
