About This Opportunity
client is advancing a significant gas generation portfolio. We are seeking a
Project Manager to support E&C's engagement across gas project development activities at our Federal Hub efforts from early-stage technical assessments through construction readiness and project execution. Immediately focus will be on project reporting development and implementation.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role operating at the intersection of Engineering, Construction, and Integrated Supply Chain. The ideal candidate brings disciplined project experience, a strong sense of ownership over cost and schedule risk, and the ability to drive cross-functional alignment in a fast-moving, origination-driven environment.
What You'll DoProject Development Support- Support E&C participation in Technology Review, Preliminary Engineering phases, and contracting for active hub gas development projects
- Coordinate E&C SME inputs for site configuration reviews, constructability assessments, and balance-of-plant evaluations including gas and electrical interconnection and switchyard scopes
- Track development and regulatory milestones, ensuring construction-phase dependencies are identified and flagged early
Project Controls & Risk Management- Maintain project schedules, cost benchmarks, and cashflow models in support of project sanction decisions
- Own and maintain the E&C risk register for hub projects, tracking scope, schedule, cost, and constructability risks across active work streams
- Identify and escalate when Development-driven scope changes introduce E&C cost or schedule risk
- Support risk-adjusted cost positioning and contingency analysis for leadership reporting
- Manage monthly and quarterly progress reporting to the Owner, including schedule status, cost performance, risk exposure, and milestone tracking ensuring reporting is accurate, timely, and decision-ready
- Develop and maintain one-page project dashboards and supporting materials for presentations, covering scope, budget, equipment status, interconnection, permitting, and decisions needed
- Prepare and maintain project status packages suitable for executive-level review, ensuring leadership has clear visibility into emerging risks, mitigation actions, and residual exposure
Procurement & Integrated Supply Chain Coordination- Coordinate with Integrated Supply Chain on RFQ inputs, technical scope review, and bid evaluation for major equipment and EPC/EPCM scopes
- Support cost comparison analysis between E&C estimates and contractor proposals, flagging material variances as scope alignment risks
- Track long-lead equipment status (combustion turbines, HRSGs, transformers, switchgear) and flag supply chain constraints in a capacity-constrained OEM market
What You'll NeedRequired:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5 10 years of experience in energy project development or large capital construction
- Demonstrated experience in project controls and schedule development for gas generation or major capital projects
- Proven ability to manage Owner-level reporting obligations, including monthly and quarterly progress reports with schedule, cost, and risk content
- Familiarity with EPC/EPCM project delivery models and contractor bid evaluation
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent work streams under competing priorities
Preferred:- Experience with combined cycle or simple cycle gas development projects
- Familiarity with interconnection processes and associated E&C scope implications
- Experience coordinating long-lead equipment procurement in constrained OEM markets
- Exposure to balance-of-plant scopes including switchyard, transmission, and civil/site infrastructure
What Sets You Apart- You own your scope cost, schedule, and risk without being asked twice
- You bring structure to ambiguous, early-stage environments and make the team around you more effective
- You communicate risk clearly and early, before it becomes a problem
- You produce Owner-ready reporting that is accurate, decision-focused, and never late
- You're as comfortable in a contractor bid review as you are in a leadership status update
