Project Management Analyst / Project Coordinator- Energy Sector
Location: Albany, NY
Pay Rate: $45.00/hr W2
Duration: 12 Months

Work Arrangement: Hybrid Minimum 2 Days Onsite
Work Schedule
- Monday Friday
- 7.5-hour workday
- 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Paid for actual hours worked
- No paid vacation or sick days
- NYPA and Canals holidays are observed as business closures; no work is permitted on those days
Work Location / Engagement Requirements- Candidates must be local to the Tri-State area.
- Candidates must be engaged on W2 as an hourly employee of the Service Provider.
- Fully remote work is not permitted.
- Hybrid schedules require a minimum of 2 days onsite, depending on assignment and business needs.
- The position may become fully onsite based on business requirements.
- Hybrid/remote privileges may be revoked at any time.
- NYPA does not provide laptops. NYPA provides desktops and dedicated workstations that candidates will remotely access from their personal equipment on virtual-work days.
- Candidates must have appropriate personal equipment and reliable internet connectivity for hybrid work.
- Vendors must disclose foreign national status and all visa information at the time of submission.
- A Benefits Waiver and Ethics Disclosure will be required during onboarding.
Project Overview In support of NYPA's goal of advancing
clean energy technologies, this role will support
AGILe Lab projects funded by NYSERDA and other New York State stakeholders in support of
CLCPA goals.
The selected candidate will work closely with project leads, power system engineers, internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to support project administration, coordination, scheduling, documentation, cost/budget control, and overall project oversight.
Roles & Responsibilities- Work with limited/minimum supervision in accordance with NYPA Project Management procedures and guidelines.
- Support project schedules and ensure deliverables from internal and external parties are completed successfully and on time.
- Perform routine project-management and administrative tasks designed to develop familiarity with engineering methods, practices, programs, and Authority procedures.
- Review project designs and bid evaluations as they relate to overall project completion and provide recommendations.
- Assist NYPA Project Managers/Engineers with coordinating and reconciling review comments from various internal groups.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to keep projects progressing according to established schedules.
- Conduct frequent follow-ups with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders regarding deliverables and deadlines.
- Schedule meetings and conference calls and prepare meeting minutes, notes, and follow-up items.
- Organize and maintain project documentation, files, and folders.
- Distribute and review project-related documentation and configuration information.
- Perform cost studies and cost-benefit analyses to support cost-effective project execution.
- Monitor project costs and help ensure activities remain within budgetary and regulatory guidelines.
- Build, maintain, and monitor project schedules.
- Support project leads and power system engineers with administrative and limited project oversight responsibilities.
- Track project deliverables, milestones, action items, and outstanding issues.
- Prepare project updates, reports, and other documentation as required.
- Support changing priorities while maintaining day-to-day project activities.
Required Skills & Experience- Project management experience .
- Minimum 3 years of project management experience, preferably within the energy sector.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Experience coordinating with external consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Experience tracking project deliverables, schedules, and milestones.
- Knowledge of project management and contract administration practices.
- Ability to prepare project updates, reports, meeting minutes, and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while responding to changing priorities.
Technical Skills- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Project
- Microsoft Outlook
- Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to organize and maintain project documentation and electronic files.
Education & Certifications- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of project management experience.
- Energy-sector project management experience is preferred.
