Project Lead - Automotive Specialist

Position Description:

• Will be responsible for all in-house Client prototype builds, and testing for Axle systems.
• All builds and testing for new axle systems within Client occurs at the Client Automatic Transmission New Product Center (ATNPC), as well as outside testing vendor in the local SE Michigan area.
• You will be responsible for leading the build events, coordinating all component timing, placing orders for parts, and working directly with the shop personnel for build timing.
• In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining axle system testing forecasts, coordinating test part delivery to the dyno area, keeping track of test status, and tracking post-test teardown progress for engineering sign-off.

• Responsible for all in-house Client prototype builds for Axle systems
• Develop project plans for upcoming build events: Quantities, complexity, timing charts
• Order parts through the Client GPIRS system per the agreed plan
• Work directly with Design and Release engineers and the supply base to coordinate timing of builds and build signoffs for completion
• Manage issue resolution, assign champions to open items, and track to completion
• Maintain the Axle systems in-house testing forecast for all in-house programs; both short term and long term forecasts
• Support "Testing priorities meeting to understand the test completion process
• Collaborate with the in-house test team to ensure all tests are completed on time and help navigate any roadblocks
• Take lead on organizing post-test parts for teardown review, and track the engineer's sign-off to completion

• Performance Testing

• Project Management experience required
• Microsoft Excel, Project & PowerPoint skills
• Experience with mechanical components, testing of parts, and build processes
• Written and Verbal Communication Skills
