Our client, a growing manufacturer of high-performance safety products, is seeking a detail-oriented Project Estimator & Inside Sales Specialist to prepare project quotations, interpret architectural drawings and specifications, perform material takeoffs, and support customers throughout the quoting and ordering process.
This position serves as an important connection between customers, outside sales, engineering, production, and operations. The ideal candidate brings strong estimating skills, technical accuracy, customer service, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll DoEstimating and Quotation Management
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations for contractors, distributors, customers, and sales partners.
- Review architectural drawings, bid packages, specifications, and construction documents.
- Perform material takeoffs and calculate project material requirements.
- Analyze project scope, applications, pricing, freight considerations, and delivery requirements.
- Identify missing information, specification conflicts, and items requiring clarification.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, and Operations to confirm project feasibility, pricing, and lead times.
- Maintain quote records, revisions, and supporting documentation in CRM and ERP systems.
- Follow up on outstanding quotations and help move opportunities through the sales process.
Customer and Sales Support
- Respond to customer questions regarding products, pricing, applications, specifications, and lead times.
- Support outside sales representatives with estimating, project coordination, and customer communication.
- Help customers identify appropriate product solutions based on project requirements.
- Coordinate product samples, sales documentation, and order-related requests.
- Address customer concerns and escalate issues when necessary.
Order and Project Coordination
- Review purchase orders against approved quotations, specifications, and pricing.
- Support accurate order entry and documentation.
- Coordinate with internal departments to help ensure on-time delivery.
- Communicate project updates, lead times, and order status to customers and internal teams.
- Track active projects and customer opportunities from quotation through order completion.
Systems and Documentation
- Maintain accurate customer, project, quotation, and order information in CRM and ERP systems.
- Track quotation activity, sales opportunities, and project status.
- Maintain complete and organized records of customer and internal communications.
- Help improve estimating, quoting, and sales support processes.
What You’ll Bring
- At least 2 years of experience in estimating, inside sales, project coordination, or customer support within a manufacturing, construction, industrial, or architectural products environment.
- Experience interpreting architectural drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Experience performing material takeoffs.
- Strong quotation preparation and estimating skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple quotations, projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience working with CRM and ERP platforms.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting architectural, construction, fabricated metal, building material, or industrial products.
- Experience with Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Comfort using technology and AI-powered tools to improve estimating accuracy, communication, and workflow efficiency.
