Engineering And Technical Leadership For Capital Projects

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Advanced degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other relevant project/engineering management certification preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.

Required Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Abilities: Experience providing engineering and technical oversight for capital projects. Experience with engineering project scoping, studies, design, procurement, and construction. Ability to develop and manage engineering contracts. Experience controlling project design and ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards and client requirements. Knowledge of engineering quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes. Ability to manage engineering project budgets and schedules. Strong project leadership and technical direction skills. Ability to establish and communicate engineering priorities to project teams, contract partners, and management. Ability to evaluate and oversee work produced by engineering/design firms, contractors, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Strong understanding of engineering requirements and project execution processes. Ability to ensure engineering solutions meet or exceed project requirements. Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.

Preferred Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Abilities: Experience with client's projects, standards, processes, and requirements. Experience working in an engineering or capital-project environment involving utilities, power generation, or other industrial facilities. Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and project execution teams. Experience managing engineering contractors, design firms, construction contractors, and OEMs. Experience developing standardized or repeatable engineering solutions and supporting replication across projects. Experience with large-scale or complex capital projects. Strong project management and stakeholder-management experience.

This position provides engineering and technical leadership for assigned capital projects within GPFS. The role is responsible for overseeing engineering activities throughout the complete project lifecycle, including scoping, studies, design, procurement, construction, and project execution. The position manages engineering contracts, budgets, schedules, design quality, and compliance with client and applicable industry standards. It serves as a key technical leader and establishes engineering priorities while coordinating with contract partners, project team members, management, design firms, contractors, and OEMs.

Job Duties: Provide engineering and technical oversight for assigned capital projects. Develop and manage engineering contracts. Lead engineering activities for project scoping and feasibility studies. Oversee project design and ensure compliance with client and applicable industry standards. Manage engineering budgets, schedules, and priorities. Lead engineering efforts through design, procurement, construction, and project execution. Provide technical leadership and direction to project design and execution teams. Establish and communicate engineering priorities to contract partners, project team members, and management. Review and oversee engineering deliverables from design firms, contractors, and OEMs. Ensure engineering and technical products meet or exceed project requirements. Manage and support QA/QC activities for engineering work. Promote replication and consistent application of proven engineering solutions across assigned projects. Coordinate engineering activities among internal teams, contractors, design firms, and other project stakeholders. Identify and address technical, design, schedule, quality, and execution issues. Ensure engineering activities support successful project delivery and overall capital-project objectives.
