Position Overview:
We are seeking a Project Engineer to provide mid-level engineering and technical expertise on complex electric transmission projects for high-voltage (HV) overhead utility systems.
In this role, you will prepare, review, and guide work on line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure and foundation design, clearance verification, plan/profile development, material specification and procurement, constructability assessments, work order package preparation, permitting, and coordination with vendors, subcontractors, and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and approve PLS-CADD criteria for transmission line projects.
Finalize PLS-CADD models for engineering designs.
Plan and schedule project tasks for the support team.
Participate in stakeholder meetings.
Conduct design review meetings and provide technical input.
Address special design-related questions as needed.
Attend internal engineering and design review sessions.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Engineering (required).
Professional Engineer (PE) certification (preferred).
Minimum of 4 years of transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility sector (required).
Proficient in using PLS-CADD for transmission line design (required).
Knowledge of industry design codes and standards, including NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI.
Experience collaborating with substation, transmission, environmental, real estate, construction, and maintenance stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to apply engineering theories and principles effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research engineering issues and evaluate alternatives.
Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Excellent collaboration, verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record per company policy.
