We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our client’s team in Spartanburg, SC in a direct hire role. The Project Engineer will be responsible for identifying, planning, implementing, and following up on both short- and long-term projects designed to improve production processes, productivity, safety, and overall operational performance.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can work effectively across departments, communicate clearly, manage projects from start to finish, and help establish a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and ensure effective collaboration between all departments.
- Oversee facility and plant maintenance activities.
- Manage building renovations, plant expansions, and equipment relocations.
- Identify opportunities to improve work methods, automate processes, and implement new procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend the purchase of new equipment.
- Develop, plan, and implement short- and long-term projects with senior management approval.
- Monitor special projects to ensure appropriate actions are taken and projects are completed on time and according to specifications.
- Work with government officials and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Lead ongoing process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide engineering and design support to the maintenance department.
- Coordinate and inspect contracted work to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Assist with employee relations and address significant personnel concerns as needed.
- Work closely with all departments to identify and improve plant health and safety conditions.
- Support the development of a productivity-focused culture and promote effective communication throughout the organization.
Qualifications- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar or higher-level engineering/management position.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field;
OR - Equivalent relevant education and professional experience.
