Project Engineer

Position Summary
The Project Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the Project Manager throughout the planning, execution, and close-out phases of construction projects. This position ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. The Project Engineer serves as the primary liaison between the company and clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with project setup and preconstruction activities, including issuing purchase orders, coordinating vendors, and managing subcontracts
- Support development of baseline schedules and 3-week look-ahead plans in collaboration with the Project Manager and Superintendent
- Prepare and review material submittals and assist in subcontractor and supplier vetting
- Monitor and update project schedules, and resolve construction-related challenges
- Conduct site surveys and ensure adherence to project specifications and safety regulations
- Maintain daily job cost tracking and field logs
- Verify and procure construction materials, ensuring accuracy and budget alignment
- Oversee quality control and assurance throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with scope of work, plans, specifications, and safety standards
- Prepare reports and documentation as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
