Position Summary Orders Construction Company has an immediate opening for a team-oriented Project Engineer to assist operations in our Wytheville, VA office. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure our projects start right and stay on track for successful delivery. Planning of work, tracking and reporting of progress, and day to day owner coordination are just some responsibilities associated with this position. This is a management position, specifically suited for those with 5 plus years of VDOT or WVDOH experience who desire a rewarding career leading a team in the field making plans a reality. As a fourth-generation, family-owned business, Orders Construction provides a small company feel with large-scale capabilities and opportunities. ResponsibilitiesAssisting and supporting project team in daily project coordinationQuality ControlDocument management - RFIs, submittals, change orders, etc.Schedule maintenanceInternal tracking and reportingAssisting with monthly financial reportingSubcontractor coordination and managementMaterial procurement and delivery coordinationProject safety management Participation in key project events (steel erection, deck pours, traffic switches, etc.)QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related fieldPrevious internship, co-op, or employment experience is a plusKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Understanding of civil engineering fundamentals - structures, survey, drainage, etc.Computer literate: proficient with Microsoft Office and other commonly utilized softwareAbility to communicate in a clear and professional manner, both verbally and in writingAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsStrong interpersonal skills and able to work collaboratively at all levels in the industry BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceVacation time and paid holidaysPerformance bonusesCompany 401(k) matching contributions and discretionary profit sharingShort-term disability insuranceTerm life insuranceCompany vehicle
