Description

Custom plastics molding/manufacturing company has an opening for a Project Engineer. Direct-hire position with competitive benefits- includes generous 401K match, health/dental, PTO, and more!

Duties:

  • Support the execution of custom plastic molding projects from concept to production
  • Collaborate with customers, tooling suppliers, production, and quality teams to ensure new and existing products are launched on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical and quality requirements
  • Review customer specifications, part drawings, and material requirements for manufacturability
  • Lead engineering of new product introduction (NPI), from design review through production approval
  • Support mold design reviews (Design for Manufacturing) and process development activities
  • Create part drawings using Solidworks
  • Establish and validate molding processes (including trials, sampling, and capability studies)
  • Interface with customers daily during project execution
  • Coordinate with suppliers on tooling, materials, and external processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering/technical discipline preferred (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience as a project manager / project engineer within a molding or fabrication manufacturing environment
  • Experience with custom molding and/or fabrication of plastics or metals preferred
  • Understanding of molding or fabrication processes, materials, and tooling
  • Strong experience reading/interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience developing new product introduction (NPI) processes
  • CAD experience (Solidworks a plus)
  • Experience working with an ERP/MRP system
  • Strong Excel skills

Salary: $100-120K
