    Description

    We are seeking a technically driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer - Electrical to support the engineering and construction of electrical systems for an Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) project. This role will work closely with project managers, field teams, and design consultants to ensure that the electrical systems are designed, installed, and commissioned to meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.

    • 2-5 years of experience in electrical engineering or construction, preferably in industrial or water/wastewater sectors.
    • Familiarity with power distribution, grounding, lighting, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and motor controls.
    • Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC, NFPA 70E), arc flash safety, and construction drawings/specs.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and project documentation tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
    • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred or willing to obtain.

    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional construction environment.
    • Self-motivated with a proactive attitude toward fieldwork and deadlines.

    Engineering & Technical Support

    • Assist in the review and coordination of electrical design documents including one-lines, wiring diagrams, load calculations, and control schematics.
    • Support the development of equipment submittals and shop drawings for electrical gear (MCCs, switchgear, transformers, lighting, VFDs, etc.).
    • Coordinate technical reviews with vendors and consultants.
    • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and applicable local and environmental codes.

    Construction Support

    • Provide daily field support to monitor progress and resolve electrical installation issues.
    • Perform site inspections and assist in QA/QC processes including equipment installation, conduit/cable routing, and terminations.
    • Track and manage RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and other project documentation.
    • Support start-up, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and control panels.

    Scheduling & Coordination

    • Collaborate with the construction team to ensure proper sequencing of electrical activities.
    • Help develop look-ahead schedules and track daily progress against baseline timelines.
    • Coordinate closely with civil, mechanical, and instrumentation/control teams to align electrical work with overall construction activities.

    Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation including redlines, as-builts, and field notes.
    • Assist in preparing daily field reports, inspection logs, and meeting minutes.
    • Support the preparation of O&M manuals and turnover packages.

    Safety & Compliance

    • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and site-specific protocols.
    • Participate in toolbox talks, site safety walks, and permit-to-work processes.
