Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Description

This Project Engineer role focuses on supporting a team of Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers on a large-scale data center project in the west valley, with primary responsibility for the electrical construction scope. You will play a key role in tracking design changes, monitoring project progress and costs, coordinating with the construction team, and maintaining critical project documentation. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex data center and semiconductor-related projects while contributing to a strong, supportive company culture with comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Track construction contract design changes and updates to ensure all stakeholders work from current documentation.
  • Monitor overall project construction progress and track job costs to support accurate forecasting and financial control.
  • Coordinate design changes within the construction team to maintain alignment between field activities and design intent.
  • Assist with the preparation of change orders and maintain the project change order log to document scope and cost adjustments.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the project schedule, helping to identify and address potential delays.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of submittal logs and Request for Information (RFI) logs to ensure timely review and responses.
  • Prepare project submittals and submit written RFIs to the client in a clear, professional, and timely manner.
  • Support extensive document control activities, including organization, distribution, and tracking of project documents.
  • Apply working knowledge of job cost tracking to support accurate project accounting and reporting.
  • Read, interpret, and analyze construction schedules to help maintain project milestones and deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, field personnel, and stakeholders to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive project and company information while demonstrating excellent human relations skills.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support successful project delivery.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a Project Engineer position.
  • 2+ years of Project Engineer experience on semiconductor or data center projects.
  • Experience supporting data center and/or semiconductor construction projects.
  • Electrical construction experience, preferably with an electrical subcontractor.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze construction schedules.
  • Extensive document controls experience, including logs for submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, and related tools).
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite for reporting, documentation, and data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of job cost tracking and cost control processes.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam for reviewing and marking up drawings and documents.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse project stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for client correspondence and internal coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Ability to contribute as needed across project functions while maintaining strong teamwork and collaboration.
  • Excellent human relations skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access is a plus.
  • Leadership experience in a field environment is preferred.
  • Estimator or Project Supervisor experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Combination of field experience and formal education is highly valued.
  • Experience with medium- to high-voltage electrical systems is beneficial.
  • Experience in construction management or electrical engineering enhances success in this role.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing schedules, logs, and documentation.

Work Environment

This role is based on-site at a data center project in the west valley, providing direct exposure to large-scale electrical construction in a dynamic field environment. The typical schedule follows a standard Monday through Friday workweek of approximately 40 hours, supporting consistent daytime operations. The position is salaried and may include a phone or phone allowance to support on-site coordination and communication. You will work closely with project managers, field teams, and technical staff in a collaborative setting that values strong company culture and teamwork. The organization offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, with a stipend available even if you are covered under a spouse's plan. Additional benefits include company-paid term life insurance and AD&D coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match and company contribution up to 10%, PTO accrual of up to three weeks with immediate usage, and seven company-paid holidays. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
