    Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to take technical ownership of engineered liquid processing and packaging projects from order entry through shipment. This position is an excellent fit for an engineer who understands how mechanical process systems come together and enjoys turning project requirements into practical, manufacturable solutions.  In this role, you'll serve as a key technical resource throughout the project lifecycle, providing engineering direction and helping ensure equipment and systems meet performance requirements. You'll work closely with engineering, project management, vendors, and other internal teams on custom equipment involving pumps, tanks, piping, mixers, heat exchangers, process skids, and liquid packaging systems.  This is not strictly a CAD design position. While you should be comfortable working with and reviewing CAD drawings, PFDs, and P&IDs, the larger focus is on technical project ownership, system-level engineering, component selection, and design direction.

    Responsibilities

    • Take technical ownership of liquid processing and packaging projects following project handoff through shipment.
    • Serve as a primary technical resource throughout the engineering and execution phases of each project.
    • Ensure project scope, technical requirements, specifications, and performance criteria are clearly understood and executed.
    • Provide engineering and design direction to support the development of custom equipment and systems.
    • Review engineering deliverables, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), system layouts, and technical documentation.
    • Review vendor submittals and assist with equipment and component selection to ensure technical requirements are met.
    • Partner with Project Management to support procurement, fabrication, equipment testing, and project scope changes.
    • Help resolve technical challenges that arise during engineering, manufacturing, and testing.
    • Provide technical support for installation and commissioning activities as needed.
    • Participate in customer-facing technical discussions when required.

    Systems You'll Work On

    • Liquid processing systems involving pumps, tanks, mixers, heat exchangers, piping, and process skids.
    • Liquid packaging systems including filling, dosing, capping, labeling, and integrated packaging lines.
    • Custom-engineered equipment and systems for industrial processing and packaging applications.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
    • Minimum of 5 years of project engineering or related engineering experience.
    • Experience working with PFDs, P&IDs, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
    • Working knowledge of CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar software.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand equipment and systems at both the component and system level.
    • Ability to translate project requirements into clear technical direction for engineering and design teams.
    • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

    Preferred Experience

    • Background in liquid processing systems, fluid handling, piping, tanks, pumps, mixers, or process equipment.
    • Experience with engineered-to-order or custom capital equipment.
    • Experience within liquid processing, packaging machinery, automation, process equipment, or industrial manufacturing.
    • Familiarity with equipment such as heat exchangers, process skids, filling systems, dosing equipment, and integrated packaging lines.
    • Experience supporting projects through fabrication, testing, installation, or commissioning.
    • SolidWorks experience and the ability to effectively review mechanical designs without needing to function as a dedicated CAD designer.

    Titles Encouraged to Apply

Candidates currently working in or coming from roles such as the following are encouraged to apply:
    • Project Engineer
    • Process Engineer
    • Mechanical Project Engineer
    • Process Systems Engineer
    • Applications Engineer
    • Systems Engineer
