Description

Job Title: Project Engineer Lead

Location: Oshkosh, WI

Pay Rate: $65 - $70/hr

Summary:

  • Duration: 6+ Month Contract
  • Work Mode: Onsite
  • Must work onsite. No hybrid or remote options. Monday - Friday 7:30 AM to 4 PM
  • ITAR required - US citizen only
  • Travel to supplier facility and/or test site within USA

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage engineering projects
  • Develop project plans, project budgets, sub-contractor statements of work, and project status reporting
  • Make critical decisions impacting projects and engineering initiatives
  • Foster innovative thinking, accountability, and process improvement among Engineers
  • Perform high-level engineering analysis, design, validation, and troubleshooting of complex components for heavy-duty vehicles
  • Provide integration and execution support for vehicle, system, sub-system, and component design
  • Provide technical mentorship in high-level analysis and design
  • Indirectly manage an engineering team consisting of Engineers, Designers, and Technicians
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate engineering activities
  • Provide coaching and development through regular performance feedback
  • Collaborate and build relationships with internal and external customers
  • Present and defend technical engineering decisions to leadership and external customers
  • Responsible for completion of a project or part of a project of moderate complexity on time
  • May manage overall project schedule and budget
  • Perform complex engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks
  • Prepare and deliver plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting
  • Collaborate with other engineering or business support disciplines internally and with suppliers externally
  • Develop and review interface control documentation with suppliers and business partners
  • Provide guidance or mentorship to entry-level engineers
  • Research, create, and update standard engineering methodology and procedures
  • Participate in the budgeting process, recommending capital improvements
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability
  • Create and maintain project documentation
  • Provide complex technical assistance for production support
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations
  • Prepare subcontractor Scopes of Work

Requirements:

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of related engineering experience
  • 2 years of successful engineering project management of medium or greater technical complexity
  • Experience in root-cause analysis, electro-mechanical system integrations, DFMEA & DVP&R development
  • Prior experience with managing NDAs

Preferred Skills:

  • PMP certification
  • Vehicle system experience
  • Experience with model-based system engineering; MOSA
  • Military experience is a plus
