A Project Engineer is responsible for assisting in the development of a project at each stage from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will work closely with Project Managers and other project participants; review contracts, plans, permits and track project schedule and budget to achieve construction with high accuracy and quality.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
· Cooperate and communicate effectively with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other members of the project construction team to assist and provide technical support.
· Report regularly on project status to the Vice President of Construction and Project Manager.
· Interface with clients to interpret their needs/requirements. Relay those requirements to company field personnel to improve client relations and ensure client satisfaction.
· Review the language and scope of project contracts before execution.
· Construct and actively update project schedules.
· Track project spending against the allocated budget.
· Quantify real-world production rates to verify the pace of the project meets or exceeds bid production rates.
· Apply for permits under the relevant municipalities and monitor application progress until approval is obtained.
· Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, safety measures, performance standards and specifications.
· Select vendors and subcontractors based on factors including quality, cost, and application.
· Request shop drawings, generate submittal packages, and verify approval on packages before material and/or subcontractors are released.
· Review plan revisions, quantify cost changes, and generate change orders.
· Gather installation conflict information from plans, survey, or field conditions and create, distribute, and track Requests for Information (RFI).
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
