Description

ASIBACC is looking for a Project Engineer to support day-to-day project operations on heavy civil construction work throughout the Hudson Valley.

This is a hands-on position working directly with the Project Manager and Superintendent. The Project Engineer will be responsible for keeping project documentation, quantities, purchasing, scheduling, billing, and other project controls current and accurate.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day project management and documentation.
  • Work with the Superintendent and field staff to keep work progressing according to schedule.
  • Manage the RFI and submittal process.
  • Track daily quantities for payment, production, and inspection purposes.
  • Process owner billings and assist with project accounting.
  • Issue purchase orders and coordinate material deliveries.
  • Plan and order materials and supplies for upcoming work.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs.
  • Prepare weekly look-ahead schedules.
  • Assist with monthly CPM schedule updates.
  • Maintain daily SWPPP inspection logs and inspection reports.
  • Track project documentation and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Assist with identifying schedule, production, material, and cost issues before they affect the work.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of heavy civil construction experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent construction experience.
  • Previous experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or construction intern on heavy civil projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read plans, track quantities, manage documentation, and work with field personnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
  • HCSS HeavyJob experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with applicable construction rules, regulations, specifications, and industry practices.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $80,000-$110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications

Schedule

Monday through Friday, typically 7:00 AM-5:00 PM. Additional hours may be required based on project needs.

Regular onsite field presence is required, with travel between project sites and the office as necessary.

There is opportunity for increased responsibility and advancement into broader project management responsibilities as experience and performance warrant.
