About the position:
E Ink Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Facility Project Engineer who can lead facility infrastructure, tenant improvement (TI), renovation, and capital projects that support laboratory, cleanroom, and pilot plant operations. This role serves as the primary point of coordination between internal stakeholders, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate has experience managing building renovations, facility relocations, space planning, construction projects, and infrastructure upgrades. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, process utilities, and construction requirements, along with the ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and construction documents
Responsibilities:
Facilities Project Management & Capital Projects
- Lead facility renovation, tenant improvement (TI), infrastructure upgrade, and relocation projects from concept through commissioning and occupancy.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, risk assessments, and execution plans for facility-related capital projects.
- Manage building improvements, laboratory expansions, cleanroom modifications, office relocations, utility upgrades, and space reconfigurations.
- Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout design, permitting, construction, and project closeout phases.
- Track project budgets, schedules, change orders, and contractor performance to ensure successful project delivery.
- Conduct site walks, construction inspections, punch-list reviews, and project turnover activities.
Design Review & Construction Coordination
- Review architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), structural, and utility drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and operational needs.
- Interpret blueprints, construction documents, engineering drawings, specifications, and as-built documentation.
- Collaborate with design teams and contractors to resolve field conditions, technical issues, and design conflicts.
- Support permitting, code compliance, occupancy requirements, and facility infrastructure planning.
- Ensure construction activities are executed safely and effectively within occupied laboratory and manufacturing environments.
Facility Infrastructure & Building Systems
- Oversee operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure and critical building systems.
- Support HVAC, cleanroom systems, power distribution, lighting, mechanical systems, process utilities, specialty gases, water systems, compressed air, thermal systems, and waste management infrastructure.
- Coordinate installation, commissioning, startup, and qualification of facility and utility systems.
- Troubleshoot facility issues and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and service providers.
- Maintain facility drawings, P&IDs, SOPs, equipment records, and as-built documentation.
Facility Relocation & Space Planning
- Support facility relocation, expansion, and occupancy planning initiatives.
- Coordinate infrastructure readiness, equipment moves, contractor activities, furniture installation, and operational startup activities.
- Evaluate facility requirements to ensure building systems and utilities adequately support future growth and operational needs.
Safety, Compliance & Contamination Control
- Ensure compliance with EHS, chemical hygiene, construction safety, and facility operating requirements.
- Support risk assessments, management of change (MOC), HAZOP activities, and environmental permitting.
- Maintain cleanroom and contamination control standards where applicable.
- Support internal and external audits, including ISO, GLP, GMP, and regulatory inspections
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, Architecture, or related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience managing facility, construction, infrastructure, renovation, or capital improvement projects.
- Experience leading building renovations, tenant improvements, facility relocations, infrastructure upgrades, or construction projects.
- Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, mechanical systems, plumbing, controls, and facility utilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, engineering plans, P&IDs, and construction specifications.
- Experience coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
- Strong project management, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership abilities.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting laboratory, cleanroom, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or pilot plant facilities.
- Familiarity with building codes, permitting processes, and occupancy requirements.
- PMP, PE, CCM, FMP, or equivalent certification.
- Experience managing projects in regulated environments (GMP, GLP, ISO).
- Knowledge of CMMS, BMS, environmental monitoring systems, and facility asset management platforms.
- Experience executing projects in occupied facilities with minimal operational disruption.
Benefits:
The annual salary range for this position is $105,000 to $135,000, not including any variable pay. The total compensation package may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other variable pay components. The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
