    Description

    Ergon, Inc. seeks a Project Engineering Co-Op who will provide technical and engineering support to Resinall Corporation's Maintenance and Engineering team. This position assists with maintenance work orders and small maintenance projects while supporting the development, design, coordination, and implementation of various engineering projects.

    Education & Minimum Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program with at least two semesters completed
    • Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred
    • Minimum 3.0 GPA
    • Experience with AutoCAD preferred
    • Familiarity with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to exercise independent judgment and adapt to varying project responsibilities
    • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
    • Ability to work effectively with engineers, maintenance personnel, contractors, and other key stakeholders

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain safe work practices as the highest priority
    • Support engineering design activities for assigned projects
    • Assist with coordinating contractors and project-related activities
    • Requisition materials and assist with procurement of project parts and equipment
    • Update engineering drawings, equipment files, and other project documentation
    • Assist in developing project design specifications
    • Collaborate with key personnel to develop project requirements and details
    • Review project details and equipment with Maintenance personnel
    • Prepare detailed project estimates, cost justifications, and supporting documentation for management approval
    • Assist with developing and implementing project schedules
    • Verify equipment and parts compatibility with applicable service conditions and design codes
    • Create bid specifications and assist with bid evaluations
    • Participate in Management of Change procedures and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews
    • Assist Project and Maintenance Engineers with project management activities as needed

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    • Typical schedule is 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with additional hours as needed to support company objectives
    • Position involves a combination of office-based work and walking throughout the plant site
    • Must be able to work safely within industrial, process, and construction environments
    • May be exposed to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and materials requiring appropriate personal protective equipment
    • Must be willing and able to travel as required for company business

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Interest in project engineering, maintenance engineering, or industrial/manufacturing operations
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a plant environment
    • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities
    • Comfortable working with technical drawings, project documentation, spreadsheets, and engineering-related software
