Project Engineer / APM - Heavy Highway

Our client, an established heavy highway contractor, is hiring a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager in the Roanoke, VA area. You will support a major multi-year interstate widening project, offering long-term stability and the chance to grow with one large project from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Support the project manager on budgets, schedules, cost tracking and change orders
• Manage submittals, RFIs and project documentation
• Track quantities, production and monthly pay estimates
• Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers and DOT inspectors
• Review plans and specifications and help resolve field issues
• Help keep the project safe, on schedule and on budget

Qualifications

• Experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer or APM on heavy highway, bridge, DOT or roadway projects
• Working knowledge of DOT specifications and documentation
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred
• EIT or PE a plus
