Position Summary
The Project Director plays a critical leadership role in driving revenue, managing client relationships, and overseeing project execution from preconstruction through completion. This position is responsible for generating and securing business opportunities, delivering accurate and competitive estimates, and ensuring projects are executed in alignment with DCPS standards for quality, safety, and profitability.
This role operates at a senior level, partnering closely with Project Managers Superintendents, Operations, and executive leadership to ensure successful project outcomes while maintaining strong client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
Compensation
Base Salary of $125,000 – $150,000 annually
This is a bonus eligible position
Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and market conditions, Additional consideration will be taken into account if the applicant desires to work in Summit County.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for originating and leading a construction project portfolio generating $3MM to $5MM+ in annual revenues.
- Perform site walks with clients and internal teams to define project scope and develop accurate estimates
- Prepare and deliver high-quality proposals, RFIs, budgets, and preconstruction documentation
- Lead client-facing efforts for both prospective and awarded projects
- Drive business development efforts, including relationship building, networking, and identifying new opportunities
- Oversee project handoff to Operations, ensuring clear communication of scope, contracts, budgets, and expectations
- Lead preconstruction meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Maintain involvement throughout the full project lifecycle to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and contractual requirements
- Conduct regular site visits and participate in key project milestones including walkthroughs and inspections
- Partner with Project Managers to monitor budgets, financial projections, pay applications, and accounts receivable
- Manage and negotiate change orders, ensuring proper documentation and financial alignment
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and support project success
- Support subcontractor and vendor selection in collaboration with Project Managers and field leadership
- Attend OAC meetings and maintain clear, proactive communication with clients, architects, and stakeholders
- Ensure all standard operating procedures, safety standards, and company expectations are consistently met
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation including contracts, budgets, and project files
- Identify risks across projects and proactively implement mitigation strategies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational and cultural development
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Project Managers and team members as needed
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in general contracting, construction, or a related field
- Strong background in estimating, project management, and client-facing roles
- Proven experience managing projects from preconstruction through completion
- Experience with projects ranging from $250K to $10M+
- Strong understanding of construction processes, job costing, and financial management
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction/project management systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to travel regularly between job sites, offices, and client meetings
- Ability to walk and navigate active construction sites, including uneven terrain
- Ability to work outdoors as needed in varying weather conditions
Work Environment
This role operates in a combination of office and field environments, requiring regular site visits, client meetings, and coordination with internal teams across the Denver metro area.

Additional Information
This is an exempt position and is not eligible for overtime.
This role requires regular travel between job sites and client locations.
