Location: Remote (Preferred Eastern or Central Time Zone)

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary: $95,000 - $110,000

Loyal Source is looking for a skilled Project Designer 2 to join our client's growing security design team.

This role is ideal for an experienced electronic security professional who excels at managing design projects, coordinating with customers and internal stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality design deliverables. The Project Designer 2 will oversee the design process for electronic security systems including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, and other low-voltage technologies. While strong AutoCAD experience is required, this position focuses more on design management, customer collaboration, cost control, and project coordination rather than daily drafting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the electronic security design process for moderate to high-complexity projects.
• Collaborate with customers, project managers, sales teams, and engineering teams to develop complete design packages.
• Serve as the primary liaison between customers and the offshore APAC design team to ensure project requirements are accurately translated into design deliverables.
• Review design scope, project requirements, and customer specifications to ensure successful project execution.
• Manage project costs, purchase orders, schedules, and design milestones.
• Track project status and maintain organized project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate design progress, scope changes, completion timelines, and project risks to stakeholders.
• Participate in project turnover, design review, and coordination meetings.
• Prepare and review submittal packages in accordance with project requirements and company standards.
• Support change order management and ensure all design modifications are properly authorized.
• Verify designs comply with applicable industry standards, codes, and customer requirements.
• Mentor and collaborate with junior designers to ensure quality and consistency across deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronic security design, engineering, project management, or field service.

• Minimum of 3 years of AutoCAD experience.

• Experience supporting electronic security systems such as:

• Access Control

• Video Surveillance (CCTV)

• Intrusion Detection Systems

• Intercom Systems

• Related Physical Security Technologies

• Strong project coordination and customer-facing experience.

• Experience managing project costs, budgets, and purchase orders.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Proficiency with Bluebeam.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred.
• Experience working with distributed or offshore design teams.
• Knowledge of security industry standards, codes, and best practices.
• Applicable local, federal, or industry-specific licenses and certifications.
