Location: Culver City, CA

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid 3 days onsite

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 6 months
  • Pay Rate: $70.00 $75.00 / Hour (USD)

Job Summary

This role guides and coaches the Scrum Team on using Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products and services. The Project Coordinator Scrum champions and cultivates an "Impact Player" culture by stepping outside pre-assigned job functions and helping wherever it's needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and coach the Scrum Team on using Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products and services
  • Oversee team maturation up to a high-performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques
  • Ensure Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure the Product Backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and visible, helping the team understand goals and deliverables
  • Work closely with team members and stakeholders to identify and remove team impediments
  • Facilitate and support all Scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective with ad-hoc Backlog Refinement (as needed)
  • Do the job that needs to be done champion and cultivate the "Impact Player" culture by stepping outside pre-assigned job functions and helping wherever it's needed
  • Assist Project leadership with preparation for Sprint Reviews and Finance Steering Committee meetings
  • Assist Project leadership in monitoring, tracking, and analyzing project costs in relation to cost budgets, forecasts, and contracts

Required Skills

  • Passionate Scrum Advocate with strong Scrum skills
  • Ability to influence a wide range of people, including people who are resistant to change and/or apathetic
  • Exemplifies and promotes Agile values and principles
  • Highly proactive, takes initiative, displays a strong work ethic, and maintains a positive attitude
  • Intermediate level of JIRA experience, ideally as an Administrator
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
  • Knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices
  • Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, vertical slicing, and other Scrum concepts and techniques
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of advanced facilitation techniques
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrated ownership of Scrum cadence and meeting logistics; ability to keep sessions time-boxed and outcome-oriented
  • Strong calendar/task-management discipline (reminders, action logs, status tracking)
  • Stakeholder communication with multiple managers; ability to escalate blockers diplomatically
  • Tool familiarity: Jira/Asana/Trello or similar; advanced Excel/Sheets for trackers

Preferred Skills

  • Agile/Scrum certification highly preferred (CSM, PSM I/II, or PMP with Agile focus)
  • Entertainment/media production coordination experience
  • SAP/ERP exposure if non-entertainment background
  • Entertainment industry a plus; otherwise, financial/ERP exposure (SAP or similar) acceptable

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required

Required Experience

  • At least 4 years of product or project development experience in an Agile/Scrum environment

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • 5 10 years in project coordination / project management with strong Scrum ceremony ownership (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retros)
