    About the Opportunity
    A well-established pre-engineered metal building contractor is seeking an Estimator / Project Coordinator to join its team in the Chicagoland area. This is an in-office opportunity for someone with commercial construction estimating experience who enjoys being involved beyond the initial bid and supporting projects through execution.
    Responsibilities
    • Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
    • Perform detailed material takeoffs and develop accurate estimates for commercial construction and metal building projects.
    • Solicit, review, and compare pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to build complete and competitive proposals.
    • Prepare project estimates, proposals, bid packages, and supporting documentation.
    • Coordinate project information between customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal team members after award.
    • Track project costs, budgets, material requirements, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Identify drawing discrepancies, scope gaps, potential project risks, and value-engineering opportunities.
    • Maintain organized estimating and project documentation while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Work closely with leadership and project stakeholders to ensure commitments, schedules, and customer expectations are met.
    Qualifications
    • Commercial construction estimating experience; PEMB or metal building experience strongly preferred.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
    • Experience with material takeoffs, estimating, and vendor/subcontractor pricing.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; estimating software experience is a plus.
