    Job purpose

    The Project Coordinator works to support program Directors to execute projects for IL Corn. The purpose of this position is to provide administrative, operational, and program support across IL Corn, helping ensure the organization’s teams, programs, events, and communications operate efficiently and effectively. This role serves as a key resource for staff by coordinating routine administrative functions, supporting data management and analysis, assisting with procurement and event planning, and providing backup administrative coverage as needed.

      

    Duties and responsibilities

    •  Provide general administrative support to IL Corn staff, including answering incoming calls, coordinating mailings, procuring supplies, and providing backup coverage for the Administrative Assistant.
    • Support the Grassroots and Membership Manager with membership data entry, reporting, and analysis.
    • Assist with policy survey data entry, organization, and analysis.
    • Assist the Communications Team with inventory management, procurement, proofreading, formatting, and other administrative needs.
    • Assist the Director of Exports and Logistics with trade team event planning and coordination.
    • Assist the Director of Conservation and Stewardship with administration of the IL Corn cover crop program.
    • Assist with planning and coordination of organizational events, including Cornbelters, Farm Progress Show, and the NCGA President’s Reception.
    • Assist the Director of Operations with AV setup and coordination for internal and external groups.
    • Manage the IL Corn vehicle fleet list, including pool vehicle reservations
    • Assist the Accounting Team with processing refund requests during busy times
    • Assist the Accounting Team with accounts receivable follow-ups
    • Assist the Accounting Team with database management for new board motions
    • Provide cross-functional support to IL Corn staff on special projects and other duties as assigned.

     

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field such as business, communications, agriculture
    • 1+ year of administrative, office, customer service; relevant internship or college experience could qualify
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including the ability to enter, organize, and maintain data accurately
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including professional phone, email and interpersonal communication
    • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments
    • Ability to learn new software, databases, processes, and industry-specific terminology

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Understanding of the Illinois ag industry 

     

    Physical requirements

    This position is in an office/desk environment and requires long periods of time in a sitting position.

    This position requires occasional domestic travel.
