Project Coordinator - Architectural Designer

General Description and Classification Standards:

The Design Project Coordinator position is responsible for supporting the design team and process by providing design coordination and support for the design, sales, product development, and production processes. This position reports to the Program Manager - Design Team and Director of DEAM's Technical Services.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for providing timely and accurate design coordination tasks including (but not limited to) sales quote support, renderings, technical design, product design support and development, and coordination support between the sales, concept design, and technical design between teams in the City of Atlanta Area. This will be a new role within DEAM Technical Services as we grow quickly, and the Project Coordinator is expected to provide process improvement ideas, develop procedures and documentation, and contribute to the team environment.

Supervision Received:

Entry level position and works under general supervision from division head and other senior level Architectural Designers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Associate''s degree in related field (Additional years of experience may be considered as a substitute for the required degree on an exceptional basis, with a minimum of four (4) years of professional related experience.

  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible architectural designing.

  • Language: English proficiency

Licensures and Certifications

Valid Driver''s License

Preferred Requirements

  • BFA, BA or bachelor''s degree in architecture or interior design related to the core functions of this position.

  • 2 years of experience in the practice of architecture or interior design.

Work Environment:

Office environment and occasional construction field site visits.

  • Coordination of technical and design efforts daily.
  • Project management and scheduling of design, collateral, and rendering concept design.
  • Check technical drawings and specifications for accuracy and coordinate with Architectural designers to execute and update.
  • Rendering development and execution of office furniture and space planning in support of Architectural Designers.
  • Competent in 2D and 3D design, and the ability to make photo-realistic renderings efficiently and under time constraints used for web, print and client presentations.
  • Create digital assets to support the sales team to include renderings, design presentations and collateral drawings.
  • Build system expertise with the technical design process and sales support cycle.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices.
  • Responsible for updating the Design Resource Room
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor, always portraying the company in a positive light and effectively managing sensitive issues.
  • Demonstrates excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently while using departmental resources, policies, and procedures.
  • Contributes to a positive team environment and proactively aids team members with difficult contacts as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
