    OB DESCRIPTION

    Project Controls Specialist to primarily focus on accurate and complete reporting data for Department of Energy grants in the Wildfire Program. Needs extreme attention to detail and ability to meet critical deadlines.

    Perform primary project controls assignments to support Project Managers. Accountable for generating reports, assisting with control activities, responding to data requests and developing/maintaining/supporting project schedules and/or detailed cost tracking. Coordinates with Project Managers to obtain weekly and monthly cost and schedule updates. Assist the Project Managers in providing accurate project forecasting and review of expenditures. Must have advanced MS Excel skills. Experience with Primavera P6, SAP Work and Asset Management required depending on additional job details. Familiarity with data analytics reporting tools preferred.

    Support the Wildfire Mitigation Program by managing reporting requirements associated with state and federal grants, including Department of Energy grants. Responsibilities include interpreting grant requirements, monitoring reporting deadlines, tracking spending and budgets, preparing complete and accurate reports, and ensuring compliance so grant funding is retained and fully utilized.

    What are the top 3-5 skills and qualifications required?

    • Ability to interpret complex grant requirements and legal language.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Strong financial analysis and reporting experience.
    • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
    • Strong timeliness and ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.

    Ideal candidate background and how many years required?
    Financial Analyst or reporting-focused finance professional with 510 years of experience. Strong finance background preferred over project management or accounting-focused backgrounds. Experience interpreting financial and contractual or grant-related language is highly desirable.

    Are there any certifications/education that the candidate must possess?
    No required certifications. Bachelor's degree in Finance preferred. No advanced degree required.

    Are there any preferred or "nice to have " skills?

    • Utility industry experience.
    • Grant management experience.
    • Department of Energy grant financial management experience.
    • Contract interpretation experience.
