Our client is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support the planning, scheduling, cost control, and performance reporting of multiple projects. In this role, you will partner with internal project management teams to help deliver engineering, procurement, and construction projects within budget and on schedule.
Lead project controls processes in alignment with project execution plans, including project setup in Enterprise Planning & Controls software and development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
Develop and maintain project schedules, cost reports, cash flow reports, forecasts, and progress curves across multiple projects.
Support engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control.
Analyze project data, review logs, and validate reports and supporting documentation for accuracy.
Develop schedules at varying levels of detail, apply and review logic ties, monitor resource loading, and perform critical path and "what-if” analyses.
Support Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM) and collaborate with project teams to assess schedule progress.
Develop and maintain earned value management systems, including input and validation of progress measurements.
Review and approve purchase orders and subcontracts for proper coding, document cost and forecast changes, and review prime contract, purchase order, and subcontract change orders.
Partner with Project Management and Accounting to review project costs and contingency costs and support external audits.
Prepare and present cash flow and schedule reports, selecting appropriate reporting formats.
Serve as a resource for technical project controls questions and assist with project forensic analysis.
Perform material takeoffs, quality checks, inspections, and field audits to validate project controls deliverables and reporting.
Comply with applicable policies and standards and perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, plus at least three years of direct project controls experience. Applicable experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with project teams and accounting stakeholders.
OSHA 10-hour safety certification or the ability to obtain it.
Experience with Oracle Primavera P6.
