Job Description:

Project Controls Manager

Summary

The position of Project Controls Manager is responsible for performing project planning, scheduling, overall planning, cost estimation and control, project reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a planning, forecasting and reporting system for the overall project.

  • Regular review of cost and schedule metrics.

  • Update forecasts for cost and schedule.

  • Regular reporting of the monitored activities.

  • Receive frequent surveillance over job activities.

  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Review quantity take-offs.

  • Review cost estimates.

  • Review orders and receive materials, supplies, tools, and equipment.

  • Review change orders.

  • Recommend solutions to design changes throughout construction process.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of post-baccalaureate experience on heavy civil construction projects bid at $200 million or more with/in:

  • Responsibility leading a team of construction professionals to support budget management, scheduling, and procurement functions;

  • analyzing performance and workload data to help develop and implement procedural changes, new methods, or automated systems as appropriate, in order to increase purchasing efficiency and cost-effectiveness;

  • working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry;

  • applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

  • Excellent command of Microsoft Excel to conduct forecasting and monthly reporting, cost control, deviation analysis, and risk and opportunities assessments

  • Experience working in Procore for document control, quantity analysis & verification, quality reporting, and production daily reports

  • Experience using SAP for forecasting and monthly reporting, and cost control

  • Experience working in Primavera P6 Scheduling software to conduct forecasting and monthly reporting, deviation analysi
