Job Description:
- Project Chief (mid-level management position) program manager reporting to NA Director dedicated to carryover quality for US Programs and US plants.
- Charger (LB), Light Duty Ram (DT MCA), Wrangler (JL), Gladiator (JT), Durango (WD), Grand Cherokee (WL), Grand Wagoneer (WS).
Responsibilities:- For cost/weight/investment and overall development of Lighting/Vision commodity parts for a given car line.
- Exterior lighting, lighting electronics and led drive modules, fixed glass, fuel/charge port door assemblies, and cowl screens.
- Oversee a group of engineers to develop source packages, source the parts, develop the parts to key corporate milestones.
- Main interface to overall Structures Engineering Sub System Technical Manager and vehicle team leadership including Chief Vehicle Engineer, Program Manager, Quality and the Vehicle Assembly plant.
Requirements:- 6-10 years of experience in automotive engineering
- Design/Release of key components without the lighting/vision commodity
- Reactive green belt
- DFSS green belt
- Program management skills - including supplier development
Preferred:- Proven leadership skills working with cross functional teams to solve customer problems
- Excellent communicator with upper management via oral presentations
- Good communicator with peers, subordinate and management via face to face and e-mail, chat, text communication.
- MBA and/or Advanced Engineering Degree
Other Expected Knowledge:- Great oral and written communication skills including management level presentation experience
- DVP, DFMEA, PPAP, DV, PV testing, Dimensional Control
- First surface or Product Design Office experience
- Change management methods
Education:- BS in EE or ME, 6 or more years of automotive experience in product development
