The successful candidate will be working very closely with the Project Managers across all the active construction projects. The role is a sole Project Accountant / Construction role and you will be part of a brilliant team. The culture at the business is excellent and they are looking for someone that is keen to build a career at the company.DescriptionThe successful candidate will:Work closely with Project Managers on all facets of project accounting and administration issuesResponsible to the jobsite team and Project Managers to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed with respect to day-to-day accounting functions at the jobsite.Review contract obligations and vendor activities to ensure all contract and monthly invoices have been received and processedCoordinate with Project Managers and supervisor of project accounting to set up new jobs, cost codes, contract, and subcontract accounting records. Assist in the preparation of initial project budgets and control accountsAssists Project Managers with the preparation of the monthly payment request compliant with the applicable contractEvaluate and monitor subcontractor financial requirements related to the performance of their subcontract and monthly payment applications.Ensure the subcontractor is complying with terms and conditions of the contract (i.e. insurance, billing procedures, etc.)Evaluate and determine compliance with subcontract insurance and bond requirements.Perform various detailed month-end allocations for fringe benefits, shared costs and indirect cost allocationsReview all month end reconciliations and journal entries prepared by the Project AccountantPrepare monthly reconciliations cost to billing analysis and follow-up and resolve reconciling itemsProvide Project Managers with cost information and cost trends to prepare monthly cost-to-complete and profit forecasts.Evaluate the adequacy of cost forecasts and alert supervisor of project accounting if project management forecasts are incomplete, inadequate, or unreasonable.Maintain project contract. Enter owner and subcontractor's change orders in the system.
