Your work as a Project Accountant will make a real difference as you support the Accounting department with various tasks, including project budgets, cost allocations, invoice reconciliation and reporting. Your work will directly impact our ability to track, report and manage the project, enabling us to successfully initiate and deliver projects, and rapidly respond to our clients’ needs by having boots on the ground immediately after disaster strikes.The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience supporting activities related to Project Accounting. This position will interact with project leads, project costing and the accounting team. requires executive presence, and strong verbal and written communication skills. We are looking for a self-motivated, responsible and confident individual with a commitment to integrity and the ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with minimal supervision. If this sounds like you, then you have found the right fit in Witt O’Brien’s.Essential FunctionsThe candidate will perform the following essential functions:Work with Senior Project Accountant and Project Managers in project setup, project maintenance, project reconciliation and project closeoutResponsible for input of billing data into client systemsAssist with preparation of monthly client billing which involves creation of invoices utilizing accounting software and collating related backupAssist with invoicing clients on a weekly, bi weekly and monthly basisAssistance with research and resolution of client questions, and creation of credit memosProcess Accounts Payable invoices from subcontractorsAdministrative and accounting tasks as requiredPreferred Skills and AbilitiesThe candidate should possess the following:Intermediate to advance excel skillsExperience with Oracle or other relational database ERP systemsDetail oriented with ability to multi-task and work in a busy environmentStrong interpersonal, communication and organizational skillsEducation and Experience RequirementsThe candidate must possess the following education and experience requirements:Degree in Finance and/or Accounting preferredYears of Experience: 8+ years of equivalent work experienceOther Experience: 3-5 years of Project Accounting work preferably in a managing consulting firm.This position description incorporates the core responsibilities of the job.
