Project Accountant / Cost Engineer
The Project Accountant / Cost Engineer will partner closely with the Senior Project Manager, Operations team, Superintendents, and Accounting team to manage project financials and maintain accurate cost controls throughout the project lifecycle. Reporting to Project Leadership, responsibilities include:
- Monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and cost reports
- Assist with forecasting, quarterly projections, and Work in Progress (WIP) reporting
- Generate monthly owner billings and support financial reporting activities
- Review subcontractor commitments, invoices, purchase orders, and change orders
- Track project costs and identify potential budget impacts
- Maintain accurate cost documentation and reporting systems
- Support labor tracking, productivity reporting, and project controls
- Partner with project leadership to proactively communicate financial risks and opportunities
- Assist with project mobilization, financial closeout, and turnover activities

For the Project Accountant / Cost Engineer, we are seeking:
- 3+ years of experience in construction accounting, cost engineering, project controls, project finance, or related construction operations roles
- Experience supporting commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or large-scale construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using Procore, Sage Timberline, or similar construction accounting systems preferred
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to identify trends, variances, and potential cost impacts
- Comfortable working directly with project teams, operations leaders, and accounting personnel
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Data center experience is a plus but not required
