Behind every successful construction project is someone keeping the financial details on track. An Atlanta-area commercial general contractor is seeking a Project Accountant to work alongside its accounting and project management teams.

This role offers the opportunity to stay involved throughout the life of a project—from initial setup and monthly billing through final closeout.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate project financial records and job cost reports.

• Prepare owner billings and process subcontractor invoices.

• Track contracts, change orders, commitments, and project expenses.

• Review invoices for accuracy and required supporting documentation.

• Reconcile project accounts and help resolve billing discrepancies.

• Work with project managers to monitor budgets and costs.

• Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, and project closeout.

Requirements:

• A degree in Accounting is required.

• Previous accounting experience in the construction industry is required.

• Understanding of job cost accounting and construction billing.

• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with construction accounting software.

• Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects.
