General Description
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
The work involves the primary responsibility for the management of the arts and cultural programs and events through the Orange County Arts Commission including, but not limited to, youth/summer programs, grant-funded programs and special projects.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Arts Commission Director, with considerable leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work and in making decisions regarding stakeholder needs and requests. Supervision of assigned volunteers is the responsibility of this class. Does related work as required.

Full Performance of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree AND three (3) years of work experience in arts administration, nonprofit management, arts education, or arts program planning AND one (1) year of experience in the direct supervision of others; OR
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A higher degree does not substitute for experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver License issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Ability to work one evening per week, and one weekend day per month.

Orange County contributes $104 per pay period ($2704.00 annually) for supplemental retirement and you will have the option to select between which investment firm you would like to have these funds contributed to.
