Program Support Specialist
Pay Rate:$18.00 per hour
Location: Abilene, TX 79602
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Start Date: As soon as possible
Assignment Duration: Temporary, with the potential for extension based on business needs and performance
 
Are you passionate about helping your community and supporting workforce development programs? We are seeking a Program Support Specialist to provide operational and administrative support for workforce services while delivering outstanding customer service to program participants and staff.

What You'll Do
As a Program Support Specialist, you will play an important role in supporting workforce center operations by:
  • Review compliance reports to ensure program requirements are met
  • Monitor customer contacts and communications for program compliance
  • Coordinate and track required participation hours
  • Maintain accurate customer documentation and case files
  • Participate in customer hearings and prepare supporting documentation
  • Assist with identifying opportunities to improve workforce services
  • Support workforce center staff with daily operational activities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to workforce program participants
  • Maintain accurate records while ensuring confidentiality
  • Perform additional administrative and program support duties as assigned
 
Qualifications
We're looking for candidates who have:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least one year of relevant administrative, customer service, workforce, or program support experience preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of workforce development programs is a plus
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with coworkers, management, community partners, and the public
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
 
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proof of automobile insurance
  • Safe driving record
  • Ability to travel locally as needed
 
Work Environment
This position is primarily office based and may require:
  • Sitting and standing for extended periods
  • Walking throughout the workday
  • Occasional bending and lifting up to 10 pounds
  • Local travel as needed
  • Flexible hours on occasion to support business needs
