This position is a non-federal role funded through an existing agreement between NRCS and NEW Solutions. The enrollee will provide direct support to farmers and landowners, enabling the implementation of conservation practices on the ground. This role contributes to NRCS's mission by enhancing capacity in field offices and ensuring timely assistance to producers. It is designed to free up NRCS staff for emergency and high-priority responses, not to replace federal staff.

This role helps ensure continued progress on conservation planning, practice implementation, and technical assistance, especially in high-demand or disaster-affected areas. It aligns with the Administration's priorities for farmer-first, field-facing, and partner-enabled capacity expansion.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS). These are experienced professionals who provide technical and professional assistance to the Department of Agriculture for the Agriculture Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Microsoft Office and proficiency in Adobe Acrobat. Use of officeautomation equipment including scanner, and printer. Knowledge of computer internet security/cyber security.Capable of basic letter writing and proficiency in written and verbal communications. OR HS/GED Degree in Business or Financial Management, Office of Administration or related field of study.

  • Position will require travel between Concord Field Office and Milford Field Office to complete Duties. Government vehicles will be available for between-office travel.

Duties:

This position will provide assistance to New Hampshire Field Offices by serving as a "floating" Program Support Specialist. Provides contract support with financial review and ensuring all documents are accountable in the file and uploaded in the database systems for payment obligations.

  • Assists District Conservationist to ensures completeness of miscellaneous paperwork associated with program contracts; reviews and uploads contract and customer information into applicable databases.   40%
  • Assists field office staff by assembling contract folders according to program guidelines and maintaining program tracking systems. Utilizes electronic files to maintain and provide information to field office staff and District conservationists.   30%
  • Assists District Conservationist by ensuring that appropriate and accurate supporting documents are compiled to substantiate payment requests and comply with contract provisions, identifies discrepancies to be fixed prior to payment processing and completes payment processing.    20%
  • Serves as "Backup" for reception, mailing, and record management. Assist with processing forms, maintaining program files, assists with reorganization of all field office files to meet established protocols and maintain ledgers for training, and workload/program contracts.   10%

  • Training on NH NRCS policies and procedures.
  • Travel Requirements: The position will require travel between Concord Field Office and Milford Field Office to complete duties or potentially be required for NRCS meetings.
