Primary point person responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering holistic student support for international students enrolled in the English language pathway program. This role ensures that students receive integrated academic, social, wellness, and immigration support to help them successfully transition into full degree programs and thrive at the university. The position works closely with academic advising, student success teams, housing, counseling services, and international student services.

Responsibilities

Student Support & Case Management:

Serve as the primary contact for English language pathway students, providing individualized academic, personal, and cultural support through regular check-ins, proactive outreach, success planning, referrals, and progress tracking.

Student Wellness & Cultural Integration:

Develop programming that promotes student engagement, inclusion, wellness, and cultural adjustment. Connect students with appropriate campus resources and escalate well-being concerns as needed.

Student Advising:

Provide a range of student advising services including academic, cultural, & campus support.

Collaboration & Reporting:

Serve as a liaison across academic units, student affairs, ISSS, housing, and external partners. Report on student progress, risk, retention, and engagement and contribute to program leadership discussions.

Program Improvement: Evaluate student support services, recommend data-informed improvements, contribute to training and onboarding resources, and support initiatives focused on retention, persistence, and student satisfaction.

And other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree.

Preferences

Read, write, & speak Mandarin Chinese.

Experience with student engagement and retention.

Experience with international student support.

Experience with continuous program improvement.

Independent, pro-active, effective communicator with excellent follow-through.
