About the Position

This is a Non-State Service, Time-Limited position. - The Director is responsible for ensuring that programs within the Office operate consistently, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable federal and state laws, grant requirements, agency policies, clinical standards, and public health best practices. The position provides direct supervision to bureau, program, and project directors and establishes clear accountability for program performance, fiscal stewardship, workforce management, regulatory compliance, and operational execution. The Director reports to the Deputy Director or designated Deputy Administrator for the Center for Lifespan Health and Wellness and serves as a member of the Center's senior leadership team. The Director provides oversight for programs and initiatives that may include: Healthy Moms/Healthy Babies of Mississippi, BLOOM Network, Maternal Chronic Disease Programming, Vitamin Angels, Perinatal Social Services, Maternal and Infant Health Bureau, Healthy Start, Safe Sleep Mississippi, ERASE Maternal Mortality, Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health, Child Death Review, Fetal and Infant Mortality Review, Genetics and Newborn Screening, Comprehensive Reproductive Health, and other cross-cutting initiatives, including but not limited to special projects under the Rural Health Transformation Grant.

What youll need to be Successful

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in effectively managing multiple competing high-stakes projects simultaneously. Must have strong people skills and the ability to skillfully collaborate on and coordinate activities at multiple levels (state, Regional, and local/county) and across multiple departments.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience and 2-4 years of supervisory experience.
