About the Agency
The Mississippi Division of Medicaid responsibly provides access to quality health coverage for vulnerable Mississippians. Medicaid provides health coverage for eligible, low-income populations in Mississippi. These populations include children, low-income families, pregnant women, the aged and disabled.
About the Position
This is a time limited position. The Program Specialist Supervisor position is within the Office of Managed Care at the Division of Medicaid (DOM) and will report to the Deputy Administrator. The Office of Managed Care program area oversees the managed care contracts between DOM and the Managed Care Organizations (MCOs). This program area provides contract and compliance oversight activities including monitoring contract performance, quality metrics, and reporting requirements. The managed care program includes over half of the Mississippi Medicaid population and is made of the Mississippi Coordinated Care Access Network (MSCAN) and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) program. Goals for managed care are to improve beneficiary access to needed medical services, quality of care and program efficiencies. This position requires an understanding and applying the managed care contract, associated state law, federal regulations (42 CFR Parts 438 and 457), DOM's Administrative Code, CHIP State Plan and DOM policies as it relates to managed care. The Supervisor will oversee the Program Specialists who serve as liaison between the Office of Managed Care and the MCOs and other assigned staff members. The Supervisor must be able to complete assigned job duties timely and is able to lead and be responsible for ensuring that staff complete assigned tasks. Job duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing and completing the following: Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) deadlines, External Quality Review (EQR) contract and activities oversight, resolution of issues, monthly management meetings process, and Reporting Deliverables/Exhibit H oversight requirements. Other tasks include working with the Fiscal Agent as it relates to the Medicaid system, developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), researching issues, and participating in special projects and assignments.
