Program Security Officer

Overview: VTG is seeking a Program Security Officer to oversee and manage personnel security programs to ensure compliance with federal and company security policies. Coordinate with government security offices, contract security officers, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance.

VTG is seeking a Program Security Officer to oversee and manage personnel security programs to ensure compliance with federal and company security policies.. This role is based in the National Capital Region and is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain personnel security clearances in accordance with federal regulations (e.g., DoD 5200.2-R, ICD 704, NISPOM)
• Process and track security clearance investigations and reinvestigations through DISS, e-QIP, and related systems
• Conduct briefings and debriefings for classified personnel (initial, annual, and termination)
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date security records and databases
• Provide guidance to employees and leadership on clearance requirements and procedures
• Coordinate with government security offices, contract security officers, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance
• Support audits, inspections, and assessments to maintain program readiness
• Assist with development and enforcement of internal security policies and training

Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management and/or Criminal Justice
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in personnel security or industrial security
• Strong understanding of NISPOM, Scattered Castles, DISS, e-QIP, and other personnel security processes
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity
