The Program Manager is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and executing a comprehensive program management regimen that meets customer expectations. The individual provides program management for customer programs smaller in scope in terms of the number of customers, facilities, programs, or strategic importance. Potentially involved in winning the business/quotation preparation focusing on (1) the assertive oversight of product launches, (2) vigilant cost containment, avoidance, and reduction throughout a product's life cycle, and (3) a comprehensive communications effort. Working at all levels of the organization the incumbent must build a case for the program and gain the commitment of the department heads allowing the allocation of the necessary resources. The leadership activities would include but not be limited to strategic programs within the team environment involving planning and defining objectives, product design and development, process design and development, product and process validation, and initial production performance.
