    Highlights

We own the proactive planning that places GoCarts before sites feel the gap, the reactive intervention that resolves shortages in real time, and - this is the part that matters - the mechanisms that make those interventions unnecessary. Own the end-to-end health of the GoCarts scheduling program across proactive and reactive tracks, and the metrics that define it: asset solvency, defective-asset rate, trailer dwell, and fill rate.

    Description

Come build the version of GoCarts logistics that schedules itself. Every day, our network moves tens of thousands of GoCarts between fulfillment, sortation, and repair sites, and every one of those moves is a promise, that the right GoCarts show up at the right site before it runs short. When that promise is at risk, the GoCarts scheduling team is the one that catches it. We"re good at catching. We need a Program Manager to help us build for the day we don"t have to.

GoCarts scheduling is the layer that keeps the network solvent in reusable assets. We own the proactive planning that places GoCarts before sites feel the gap, the reactive intervention that resolves shortages in real time, and - this is the part that matters - the mechanisms that make those interventions unnecessary. Our hardest problems aren"t scheduling problems. They"re throughput, visibility, and signal problems, and we"re moving the whole program from reactive execution to proactive, data-driven decision-making.

    In this role you will:

    Own outcomes, not status decks.

    Build mechanisms, not workarounds.

    Automate what you touch.

Turn bottlenecks into asks leadership can act on.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Own the end-to-end health of the GoCarts scheduling program across proactive and reactive tracks, and the metrics that define it: asset solvency, defective-asset rate, trailer dwell, and fill rate.
    • Drive peak-season readiness, including solvency targets, defective-asset reduction, injection plans, and contingency strategy, and manage the tradeoffs between them.
    • Diagnose true network constraints, separating the real bottleneck (for example, repair throughput) from the symptom (scheduling), and build the data and business case to resolve it with the right owners.
    • Manage cross-functional dependencies with repair and capacity partners, holding partner commitments to committed dates and escalating risk clearly and early.
    • Close data-visibility gaps with partner data teams, improving scan compliance and site-level inventory signals so scheduling runs on actuals rather than assumption.
    • Partner with science and automation teams to advance the roadmap toward continuous demand-versus-inventory detection, alerting, and model-driven resolution.
    • Author crisp, data-backed narratives for senior leadership that frame risk, ownership, the ask, and the plan forward.
    • Develop and own KPI reporting across the program portfolio, with clear visibility into milestones and performance.

Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
