    CTG is seeking to fill a Program Manager I opening for our client.

     

    Location: Buffalo, NY
    Duration: 12 months

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Manage multiple related projects and ongoing operations impacting three or more business or functional areas.

    • Establish project scope, objectives, roles, responsibilities, deliverables, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.

    • Develop and maintain project plans, forecasts, schedules, budgets, communication plans, risk plans, quality plans, and resource plans.

    • Work with stakeholders and project managers to gather requirements, monitor cost, schedule, technical performance, and project deliverables.

    • Manage program execution, budgets, forecasts, project work, and approved scope changes.

    • Monitor program performance, identify variances, implement corrective actions, and communicate status to stakeholders and executive management.

    • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints; escalate matters requiring management attention.

    • Coordinate resources across constituent projects to support overall program objectives.

    • Build team cohesiveness and improve team performance through leadership, mentoring, training, and motivation.

    • Ensure adherence to risk management, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and company policies.

    • Support implementation of internal and external audit requirements and address issues raised by regulators, as applicable.

    • Promote an inclusive environment that supports diversity and reflects the organization's values.

    • Exercise managerial responsibilities related to staffing, performance management, appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations.

    • Complete other related duties as assigned.

    Scope of Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate multiple high-priority projects and ongoing operations from initiation through close.

    • Support programs impacting three or more lines of business or functional areas.

    • Manage programs with project scopes of approximately $5 million or more, team sizes of approximately 30–50 FTE, and durations of 18–24 months.

    • Coordinate projects involving major business benefits, significant customization, six or more interfaces, and integration across internal and external systems.

    • Manage moderately aggressive timelines and moderately defined project scopes with minor changes to business processes or procedures.

    Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

    • Typically manages 5–15 employees directly and indirectly.

    • Provides program-level leadership for project teams of approximately 50–100 members.

    • Responsible for staffing, performance management, team development, and resource coordination.

    Education and Experience Required:

    • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of proven project management experience, or

    • In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 12 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 8 years of proven project management experience.

    • Strong knowledge of project and program management methodologies.

    • Experience with program planning and execution, stakeholder and executive communication, risk management, governance, and dependency management.

    • Proficiency with personal computers and relevant software applications.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and build consensus.

    • Experience communicating initiative status and program information to executive management.

    • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective relationships with clients, management, business partners, and peers.

    • Ability to build trust, encourage respect, and work effectively with diverse perspectives.

    Education and Experience Preferred:

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

    • Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification.

    • Master's degree.

    Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
