Jacksonville Fire and Rescue is actively seeking a Program Manager - Emergency Preparedness - Grant Coordinator//SPE.

This position is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, implementation, and compliance of a specific grant program or group of grant programs.
This grant-funded Special Purpose Employee (SPE) position provides programmatic support to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Departments Emergency Preparedness Division and works closely with the Grant Administrator to ensure effective management of grant-funded projects, equipment, training, planning initiatives, and regional coordination efforts.
The position serves as a regional liaison among the five counties that comprise the Jacksonville Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)-Duval, Nassau, St. Johns, Clay, and Baker Counties-to enhance regional preparedness and strengthen capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from acts of domestic and foreign terrorism.
This position is grant-funded and exists for the duration of the approved grant period. Employment is contingent upon continued grant funding and project requirements.

The positions that are being filled are grant funded Special Purpose positions. These positions are funded for one year at a time. If the grant is not renewed at the end of that year or any corresponding year, the employees in these SPE positions will NOT BE RETAINED when the grant expires.

A bachelors degree in one or more of the following fields - Emergency Management, Emergency Preparedness, Public Safety Administration, Grant Management or related field -from an accredited college or university is required.
