Program Manager - Cybersecurity
Position Overview
United Airlines is seeking an experienced Staff Augmentation Program Manager to support its Cyber Asset Management (CAM) portfolio and several highly visible cybersecurity initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program and project management within complex technology environments and will be comfortable coordinating activities across multiple cybersecurity, Digital Technology, Data & Analytics, and external contract/vendor teams.
This role requires someone who can take ownership of day-to-day program execution, maintain alignment across multiple workstreams, proactively identify risks and dependencies, and ensure that strategic initiatives continue progressing on schedule.
The Program Manager will support initiatives related to areas including:
- Cyber Asset Management
- Cyber asset inventory
- Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM)
- Security agent compliance
- Infrastructure and technology risk
- CMDB and asset data management
- Other strategic cybersecurity programs and projects
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day execution of multiple cybersecurity programs and strategic initiatives.
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project and program plans, including milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, and action items.
- Coordinate activities across Cybersecurity, Digital Technology, Data & Analytics, contract resources, and third-party vendors.
- Ensure clear ownership, accountability, and follow-through across participating teams.
- Facilitate cross-functional working sessions, project meetings, and stakeholder discussions.
- Document key decisions, action items, dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments.
- Track program progress and proactively identify schedule or execution risks.
- Drive issue resolution and escalate blockers when necessary.
- Prepare program status reports, dashboards, executive summaries, and leadership-ready presentations.
- Maintain visibility into the health, progress, risks, and dependencies of multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to ensure projects remain aligned with strategic objectives.
- Drive execution and follow-through to keep initiatives on schedule and ensure commitments are completed.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in Program Management and/or Senior Project Management supporting complex enterprise technology initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, workstreams, stakeholders, and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Strong experience coordinating cross-functional technical and business teams.
- Proven ability to manage project schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, issues, and action items.
- Experience preparing executive-level status reports, dashboards, presentations, and program updates.
- Strong meeting facilitation, organizational, documentation, and follow-up skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive projects forward in a highly matrixed enterprise environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The strongest candidate will be a hands-on Program Manager who is comfortable operating in a highly visible enterprise environment and coordinating multiple technical teams and contract resources.
This person should be able to quickly understand complex initiatives, establish structure around multiple workstreams, identify dependencies and risks, communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior leadership, and drive teams toward measurable delivery outcomes.
